Many prominent health-related and scientific organizations have agreed that food irradiation is an effective tool for enhancing food safety. Trade groups such as the American Meat Institute, the Grocery Manufacturers of America, and the National Food Processors Association also support treatment.

In addition, over 40 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, China, India, and Russia, have approved cold pasteurization for various types of food.
